After the Rain was taken on a spontaneous walk through my neighbourhood. I was mesmerized by the deepened colours where the rain hit the bark, and a striking contrast where it remained dry. Meeting of light and dark, soft and strong, each appearing more vivid beside the other. It evoked for me the ancient symbol of yin and yang — seemingly opposing forces existing together, each giving form to the other.
There was something extraordinarily beautiful in this natural balance. Nothing needed to be changed or arranged. It was simply there, revealed by the rain.
My wish is that this image brings a moment of stillness — a reminder that contrast does not always need to be resolved; sometimes there is beauty in allowing both to exist.
