In this workshop, Lauren invites the elements of earth, air, fire, water, and spirit into a dynamic
movement journey that culminates in a rich dance language—one that welcomes improvisation
in both personal and communal expression.
Taking eclectic inspiration from earth-based spiritual paths and Middle Eastern, Romani and
global fusion dance forms, Lauren will guide us through the art of connecting movements to our
breath and sound, expand our curiosities around the nuances of mirrored movement and
practice some basics of moving together in a group or “tribe” using geometric shapes.
You are invited you to witness, experience, and explore:
✨ Connecting movement with breath and sound
✨ Bringing curiosity to mirrored movement as a form of shared language
✨ Discovering some basics of moving in group or “tribe” formations using geometric shapes
✨ Experiencing joyfulness and playness through improvisation
The space will be filled with a lush and eclectic soundscape to guide and inspire your
movement, supporting attunement to your unique rhythm.
This offering is open to all bodies and genders.
Movements are invitations—adaptable to all levels of confidence and ability.
No dance experience is needed.
Please wear comfortable, layered clothing that allows for ease & warmth, freedom & flow.
There will be beautiful, fringed shawls to adorn your hips, should you wish to enhance your sensory experience in a gently held, embodied, and inclusive space to move, connect, and be.
Co-creative space to move with the elements, awaken inner rhythms, and dance our way into
deeper connections—with ourselves, with others, and with the earth beneath your feet.
Space will open for feedback and responses
4:30pm -We will close the container with a gentle meditative practice as a collective.
GENTLE DISCLAIMER: While this offering draws inspiration from traditions sometimes
labelled as “belly dance,” there is no expectation or need to expose or focus on your belly. The
intention of this practice is not performance, but presence. We centre how movement feels, not
how it looks—nurturing spontaneity, authenticity, and joy.
